Disney has been using classic fairy tales as inspirations for their movies since Walt Disney’s first movie, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, one of the projects he was working on was a animated version of Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy-tale The Snow Queen.   Eventually Disney did release a animated movie loosely inspired on the classic book, called Frozen, however it was very different from the original book.  The original book consisted of seven stories, based around a young girl and boy called Kay and Gerda.

According to the DisInsider, Disney has begun early development on a live-action adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy-tale The Snow Queen.   This wouldn’t be a live action version of Frozen, since the story is going to be more inline with the original fairy tale, though there are a few of the same elements in the book and Frozen.

It’s set to be released in cinemas first, rather than being a Disney+ Original.  The film is going to be produced by Kristin Burr, who has also worked on “Winnie The Pooh” movie Christopher Robin and the upcoming 101 Dalmatian prequel, Cruella.

Would you like to see a live action version of “The Snow Queen”?
