Disney has released a new behind-the-scenes video for the most recent Marvel Studios series, “Ms Marvel”, which introduced Kamala Khan, a Muslim American teenager growing up in Jersey City. An avid gamer and a voracious fan-fiction scribe, Kamala is a Super Hero mega fan with an oversized imagination—particularly when it comes to Captain Marvel. Yet Kamala feels like she doesn’t fit in at school and sometimes even at home—that is, until she gets super powers like the heroes she’s always looked up to. Life gets better with super powers, right?

In this new video, Ryan Penagos talks with Jackson Sze (Visual Development Supervisor), Jana Schirmer (Visual Development Concept Illustrator), and Mushk Rizvi (Visual Development Concept Illustrator) of the Visual Development team for Marvel Studios’ Ms. Marvel about how they helped create the look of Kamala Khan in her everyday and hero looks for the series.
