Disney’s Lucasfilm is developing many new Star Wars projects for our screens, and according to The Ankler , screenwriter Damon Lindelof has been hired to write a new Star Wars movie.

Damon Lindelof has previously written the award-winning HBO series, “Watchmen”, ABC’s “Lost”, Disney’s “Tomorrowland”, “Star Trek Into Darkness“, and “Prometheus”.

It’s not currently known what Star Wars film he is working on.

Disney currently has Patty Jenkin’s “Rogue Squadron” film scheduled to arrive in cinemas for Christmas 2023. Disney also has two more untitled films due to arrive for Christmas in 2025 and 2027. However, it’s still possible that these film releases might be altered.

With Star Wars Celebration set to take place in late May 2022, hopefully, Lucasfilm will provide fans with an update on the current plan for Star Wars moving forward, both for films and for Disney+.

In the meantime, you can watch all of the Star Wars films and series now on Disney+.
