D23: The Ultimate Fan Event Returning In 2026

Disney kicked off the first day of its Destination D23 event at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort by announcing details on the next big event for the Disney calendar, which will see D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event (formerly known as the D23 Expo) return to Anaheim, California, from August 14th through 16th, 2026.

The major D23 event takes place every two years, and Disney has confirmed that following the success of last year’s event, it will once again be held at both the Anaheim Convention Centre and the Honda Centre.  

Fans can be among the first to hear exciting announcements during marquee showcases and presentations, and can also look forward to immersive experiences, exclusive shopping opportunities, and extended magic throughout the week leading up to the event, including the return of D23 Day at Angel Stadium and D23 Day at Disneyland.

The announcement was made by Michael Vargo, who is the head of D23: The Official Disney Fan Club, who said in a statement:

“D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event offers fans from around the globe a chance to experience the very best in storytelling and innovation in a way that only Disney can deliver.  We are already hard at work dreaming up ways to continue raising the bar for Disney fans next year when we return to Anaheim, and we can’t wait to bring them a truly unforgettable event.”

Roger’s Take: The Walt Disney Studios Showcase panel is one of the highlights of the year for movie and TV fans, as it’s when Disney makes the biggest announcements regarding its upcoming movies and shows, with Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar and other studios in attendance to make those big flashy reveals on the grand stage.  With the event once again taking place in the Honda Center, that means over ten thousand Disney fans will be in attendance for that panel, which will no doubt see plenty of Hollywood stars taking to the stage to promote the upcoming projects. 

In previous years, we’ve seen many new Disney+ Originals revealed, along with those in attendance getting first looks at upcoming projects, so it’s certainly going to be a highlight for Disney fans in 2026.
