Claire Danes & Ewan McGregor Join Hulu’s “The Spot”
A brand-new drama series called “The Spot” is currently in development for Hulu/Disney+ and will be created by A24 and 20th Television. Hulu acquired the rights to the show in 2024 with a straight-to-series order.
The series will follow a successful surgeon and her school teacher husband, who begin to suspect she might be responsible for a child’s hit-and-run death. Their quest for truth spirals into a web of mounting suspicion and dark secrets, testing their resolve and their relationship as they confront the possibility of hidden guilt and betrayal.
The new series will star Claire Danes and Ewan McGregor. Originally, Kate Winslet was attached to the project, both as an actor and executive producer, but left this past summer due to creative reasons.
Claire Danes has previously starred in “Homeland” and the FX series, “Fleishman is in Trouble”, while Ewan McGregor has previously starred in “Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi” and “A Gentleman In Moscow”.
It has been created and written by Ed Solomon, who will also be the showrunner on the series. Ed has previously worked on “Full Circle”, “Now You See Me” and “Bill And Ted’s Excellent Adventure”. Ed will be an executive producer along with Robin Sweet and Ariel Kleiman.
Production is set to begin in 2026, so it’s unclear when it will be released on Hulu/Disney+.
