Disney has announced details on a brand new Korean original drama series called “Gold Land”, which stars Park Boyoung, Kim Sung Cheol, Lee Hyun Wook, Kim Hiewon, Moon Jeong Hee, and Lee Kwangsoo.

This gripping new crime thriller is set in rural Korea and is suffused with tension.  “Gold Land” follows Kim Heeju, a young woman who stumbles into possession of gold bars belonging to a smuggling syndicate. On the run from a violent criminal network and forced to return to a hometown she had hoped to forget, Heeju’s story quickly turns into a harrowing chase for survival.

The show has been created by Hwang Joyoon, who previously wrote “Oldboy”, and it is being directed by Kim Sunghoon, who previously worked on the Disney+ Original series, “Chief Detective 1958”.

This is the latest drama series to come out of Korea, following the success of “Moving”, “Nine Puzzles” and “Hyper Knife”.

Disney hasn’t yet confirmed the release date for “Gold Land”, which will be released on Disney+ around the world and on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States.
