Cheryl Burke Signs First Look Deal With ABC
Disney’s ABC has signed a new first-look deal with former “Dancing With The Star” professional dancer Cheryl Burke, where she will develop entertainment programming such as scripted and unscripted live-action and animated series, as well as specials and podcasts for Disney’s studios, including ABC.
Cheryl appeared as a professional dancer on 26 seasons of the hit dancing competition, where she was the first female professional dancer to win the Mirror Ball Trophy and the first pro-dancer to win the competition back to back.
She left the show in 2022 and launched a new podcast called “Sex, Lies and Spray Tans” for iHeartRadio. The podcast, which is ranked as one of the Top 50 podcasts in the TV and Film category, is themed around the hit Ballroom competition and brings former partners, co-stars, friends and frenemies in for each episode.
The show recently hit 200 episodes, and Cheryl announced she was going to pause the project. She is also a co-host on the podcast “I Do Part 2”, along with others, including “Pretty Messed Up” and “Burke In The Game”.
In addition to dancing and podcast hosting, Cheryl created, directed, executive produced and starred in a live stage show called “Love On The Floor.”
Cheryl took to social media to confirm the new deal, stating:

Roger’s Take: With Cheryl’s history with “Dancing With The Stars”, I could easily see some spinoff project being created under this new deal, either a show or podcast. Disney wouldn’t have signed this deal if she didn’t have some ideas for new projects which could find a home on ABC, Hulu and Disney+.
