Bradley Whitford Joins 20th Century Studios “Rosaline”
20th Century Studios is currently developing a new modern version of “Romeo and Juliet”, called “Rosaline”, which is based on the novel “When You Were Mine” by Rebecca Serle, which retells the classic story through the eyes of Juliet’s cousin Rosaline, who is going to be played by Kaitlyn Dever.
Rosaline is a sharp but idealistic young woman—who happens to be Romeo’s recent ex. What begins as an attempt to foil the famous romance and win back her guy becomes a journey of self-discovery as she ultimately works to help get the star-crossed lovers back together.
Deadline is reporting that Bradley Whitford has joined the cast of the film, which includes Kaitlyn Dever, Isabela Merced, Kyle Allen and Sean Teale.
Bradley Whitford has previously starred in “The West Wing”, “The Handmade’s Tale”, “Saving Mr Banks”, plus many more shows and films. It’s not yet been revealed what character he will be playing.
Karen Maine will be directing the film, with 21 Laps’s Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen producing the film. The novel has been adapted into a script by Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, who previously worked on the 20th Century Studios films “The Fault In Our Stars” and “500 Days of Summer”.
No release date has yet been announced for “Rosaline”.
