“Beauty And The Beast” Prequel Disney+ Series Title Revealed
During a recent interview with Variety, Alan Menken accidentally let slip the name of the upcoming “Beauty and the Beast” prequel series, starring Luke Evans and Josh Gad as Gaston and LeFou.
When asked about what new projects he was working on, he answered:
I’m excited about the projects I’m doing. I’m working on “Disenchanted” and a new “Beauty and the Beast” prequel, “The Little Town.” I’ve also been working on the new animated picture “Spellbound” with John Lasseter. And I’m doing a bunch of Broadway shows.
Collider has confirmed that the new series is called “Little Town”, which is a reference to a lyric from the opening musical number in Beauty and the Beast, “Belle,”, which was written by Howard Ashman. Next week Disney will be releasing a documentary called “Howard” on Disney+ about the lyricist.
This new series is being created by Josh Gad and “Once Upon A Time” creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz.
Production is due to begin soon, though the team have been working on the series during the lockdown.
Are you looking forward to “Little Town”?
Is Disney really about to make a show about a violent psychopath(Gaston) and his enabler(Le Fou)?
Seem like an odd premise for a series. But I'm sure the music will be great.
