Earlier this year, it was revealed Disney is working on a new “Beauty and the Beast” prequel live action series featuring Gaston and LaFou, with Luke Evans and Josh Gad return to their roles.

Josh Gad took to social media over the weekend to reveal that new songs have been written by Alan Menken, who wrote the songs for the original movie.

The series is currently in the early stages of development for Disney+ and it will consist of 6 episodes.  “Once Upon a Time” creators, Eddy Kitsis and Adam Horowitz are producing the show, who had been previously working with Josh Gad on a new Muppets Disney+ series called “Live Another Day” which was cancelled.
