Last year, Disney released a brand new original series on Disney+ and Hulu based on R.L. Stine’s worldwide bestselling Scholastic book series, Goosebumps.

Shortly after the season finale, it was revealed that the show had been renewed for a second season. The new season will consist of eight episodes and feature a new “Goosebumps” chapter, with a brand-new story, setting, and cast.

In the upcoming season, teenage siblings discover a threat within their home, setting off a chain of events that unravel a profound mystery. As they delve into the unknown, the duo find themselves entangled in the story of five teenagers who mysteriously vanished in 1994.

Following on from the news that David Schwimmer has joined the cast of the upcoming second season of “Goosebumps”, it’s been revealed that Ana Ortiz has also joined the cast as a series regular.

Ana has previously starred in the Hulu/Star Original series, “Love, Victor”, and the 20th TV series, “Ugly Betty”.

She will play the role of Jen, a dedicated police detective who remains rooted in her Brooklyn neighbourhood after experiencing a tragic event that involved her friends in adolescence.

David Schwimmer will play the role of Anthony, a former botany professor and divorced parent of teenage twins whose world takes a tumultuous turn as he juggles the responsibilities of overseeing an ageing parent while having his kids for the summer.

Disney has also announced some more cast for the series, which includes Sam McCarthy (“Dead to Me”) and Jayden Bartels (“Side Hustle”) as fraternal twins Devin and Cece, respectively; Elijah Cooper (“That Girl Lay Lay”) as CJ; Galilea La Salvia (“Party Down”) as Frankie; and Francesca Noel (“R#J”) as Alex.

The upcoming second season will be developed by Nicholas Stoller (“The Muppets”) and Rob Letterman (“Pokémon: Detective Pikachu”), who will be executive producers, alongside showrunner Hilary Winston (“Community”), Neal H. Moritz (“Fast & Furious” franchise), Scholastic Entertainment’s Iole Lucchese (“Clifford the Big Red Dog”), Pavun Shetty (“The Boys”), Conor Welch (“Platonic”), Scholastic Entertainment’s Caitlin Friedman (“Stillwater”) and Erin O’Malley (“New Girl”).

While we wait for the upcoming second season of “Goosebumps”, you can watch the first season on Disney+ now.
