Disney is developing a new show called “The Son In Law”, which will be a single-camera comedy series that is being written and executive produced by Ajay Sahgal, who previously worked on “The Carmichael Show”, “Shame About Ray” and “Merry Happy Whatever”.  Jake Kasdan and Melvin Mar, who are behind ABC’s Fresh Off the Boat and the upcoming Disney+ series, Doogie Kealoha, M.D, will also be executive producing the series.

In The Son of Law, a salt of the earth man finds himself seeking the approval of his new fiancé’s sophisticated parents, even as he remains a difficult-to-impress father-in-law to his daughter’s husband.

20th Century Television is the studio behind the series, and it’s set to come to ABC/Hulu in the US, which will probably result in the show becoming a Star Original for Disney+ internationally.
