Disney’s ABC has opted to not move forward with developing a pilot for the single-camera comedy “Adopted”.

The show is based on a true story and tells the story of what happens when a Green Beret (Vance) returns home to Texas from military service, he and his family struggle with the challenges of adopting his new brother, a 12-year-old Russian boy.

“Adopted” was being created Shawn Vance, Daril Fannin, and Jimmy Kimmel. But the project was delayed due to the pandemic.

ABC Signature produced the pilot along with Kimmelot and it stars Shawn Vance, Bruce Campbell, Wendie Malick, Maxim Swinton, Tate Moore, Sofia Pernas, and Reyn Doi.

Variety is also reporting that the pilot may be sold to other outlets.
