‘Abbott Elementary’, Grey’s Anatomy’ & ‘Doctor Odyssey” Pausing Production Due To LA Fires
With the wildfires raging across Los Angeles, which have resulted in over 70,000 people including many well-known actors, such as Mark Hamill having to flee their homes.
As you might expect, this is also having a knock-on effect across the entertainment industry, with many events being cancelled and postponed, including the Critics Choice Awards and a premiere event for the new ABC comedy series, “Shifting Gears.”
It’s also having an impact on the filming of many shows across the region, including 20th Television’s “Grey’s Anatomy”, “Abbott Elementary” and “Doctor Odyssey”, which have suspended production.
Also impacted is the ABC late-night TV show, “Jimmy Kimmel Live”, which has suspended tapings for the day.
Other shows such as “Hacks”, “NCIS”, “Hacks”, “Loot”, “Ted”, and many more have also suspended filming, as Warner Brothers Discovery, CBS and Universal have closed their sets.
Roger’s Take: With an ever-changing situation, it’s unknown how long filming will be suspended, but hopefully, the winds will die down soon, and the fires can be put out, saving people’s lives and homes. It must be a terrifying time for people within the area, and ultimately, production must be shut down for a limited time to allow the cast, crew, and people working at the studios to focus on their families and deal with this terrible situation.
