Disneynature’s “Orangutan” Coming Soon To Disney+

Disney has announced a brand new Disneynature film, “Orangutan”, that features exhilarating action, heartwarming encounters, and a close-up look at a stunning jungle teeming with wildlife, which will be coming to Disney+ later this year on Earth Day

Disneynature’s “Orangutan” takes viewers high in the treetops of the world’s most majestic rainforest canopy in Southeast Asia, where a magnificent and mysterious community filled with playful personalities lives.

The immersive feature introduces Indah, an inquisitive adolescent orangutan learning how to navigate life as she prepares to leave her family and venture out on her own for the first time.

This new film has been narrated by Josh Gad, who recently starred in Marvel’s “Wonder Man” and is most well known for his performances as Olaf in the “Frozen” films.

“Orangutan” is directed by Mark Linfield, who said in a statement regarding the new film:

“After directing wildlife shows all over the world for the past 30 years, I can honestly say orangutans are my absolute favourite animal! They’re gentle, funny, smart and always surprising. Josh Gad’s narration has really captured their spirit and the camera team managed to film a whole new side of their lives that viewers won’t have seen before. I can’t wait for people to watch this one.”

It has been co-directed by Vanessa Berlowitz and produced by Linfield, Berlowitz and Roy Conli, with original music by Nitin Sawhney.

“Orangutan” releases on Earth Day, April 22md 2026, exclusively on Disney+.

Roger’s Take: Disneynature movies are some of the most beautifully filmed documentaries and feature some stunning footage of amazing animals.  I have little doubt that this will follow suit and be another great addition to Disney+, especially for Earth Day.

Are you looking forward to watching
