“Tron: Ares” Debuts On The Nielsen Streaming Chart

Nielsen has announced its top 10 streaming charts for the United States from January 5th 2025, to January 11th 2026. There are four different charts: Top 10 Originals, Acquired Shows, Movies, and a combined total chart.

The biggest new releases on Disney+ during this week was “Tron: Ares”, which slipped into the top five of the movies chart, highlighting the power of how a theatrical release can still deliver strong streaming viewership.

“Percy Jackson And The Olympians” continues to be Disney’s most popular original series on Disney+, keeping its place on the Originals chart, though not getting enough viewers to make the overall chart.

Netflix continued to dominate the Nielsen streaming chart with final episodes of the final season of “Stranger Things” breaking more viewership records as the total views for this series completely dwarfed other shows and films.

With the holidays over audiences ditched all of the traditional Christmas movies and reset back to normal. “Zootopia” continues to get a boost in viewership with the latest films topping the box office.

Disney continues to hold a large portion of the acquired charts, with its biggest hits, including “Grey’s Anatomy”, “Homeland” “Bob’s Burgers” and “Bluey”, still drawing viewers on Hulu and Disney+. Disney was also able to take advantage of some popular licensed content, such as “Law & Order”.
