20th Television Developing New Drama Series “Killer Class”

20th Television is developing a brand new drama series that is currently going by the name, “Killer Class”, which is based on Keith Sharon’s article of the same name from The Tennesseean about a group of students and their teacher from Elizabethton High School.

The new series is based on the true story and tracks the unexpected formation of an HS Forensics Club that proves shockingly effective at solving real cold cases.

“Killer Class” will be co-created by Steven Lilien, Bryan Wynbrandt, and Joe Webb, who will also serve as executive producers on the show, with Lilien and Wynbrandt also serving as showrunners.

Ken Kwapis of In Cahoots will executive produce and direct the project.  He is currently working on the Disney+ Original “Malcolm In The Middle” revival series and has also previously worked on “The Office”.  Ken Kwapis said in a statement regarding the show:

“The fact that these kids and their teacher were able to solve cases that had been cold for decades blew me away. I thought: ‘Breakfast Club meets true crime,'”

Alex Beattie of In Cahoots is executive producing, and Reynolds Anderson of In Cahoots is co-executive producing. Rachel Kaplan (“La Brea,” “Our Boys”) of Absecon Entertainment will also executive produce.

No other details on the upcoming series, such as who will star in it or when it will be released, have been revealed yet.  As with other shows from 20th Television, it’ll likely be released on ABC, Hulu and Disney+.
