Searchlight Pictures Reportedly Developing “Ready Or Not” Sequel

One of the first Searchlight Pictures films to be released following Disney’s purchase of 20th Century Fox was “Ready Or Not”, a black comedy horror film about a young bride as she joins her new husband’s rich, eccentric family in a time-honoured tradition that turns into a lethal game with everyone fighting for their survival.

The film starred Samara Weaving, Adam Brody, Mark O’Brien, Henry Czerny, and Andie MacDowell.  It was directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, and Tyler Gillett. 

With the film having just a $6 million budget, it went on to pull in over $57 million at the box office, to be a big hit for the studio and according to The InSneider, Searchlight Pictures is now developing a sequel.

Samara Weaving is expected to return, and it is going to be directed by Adam Robitel, who has previously worked on “Escape Room” and “Insidious: The Last Key”.

Officially, Disney hasn’t announced a new sequel is in development, but hopefully we will see confirmation soon.
