20th Century Studios Developing New Sci-Fi “Capsule”
Disney’s 20th Century Studios is developing a new film called “Capsule”, which tells the story of a young tech entrepreneur whose life is turned upside down when he mysteriously begins to receive metallic capsules containing messages from his future self.
According to Deadline, Justin Chon is in talks to direct this new sci-fi movie. Justin has previously worked on “Blue Bayou”, “Man Up”, “Gook” and “Ms Purple”.
The script is currently being worked on by Elijah Bynum, who has recently worked on the upcoming “Magazine Dreams”, which was initially going to be released by Searchlight Pictures before the legal issues with Jonathan Majors caused the studio to drop the film. Elijah has also worked on “Hot Summer Nights” and “Deliverance”.
It will be produced by Hutch Parker via his Hutch Parker Entertainment banner, alongside John Zaozirny. Ian Shoor will also be an executive producer on the film, following bringing the original spec to 20th Century Fox in 2013.
With the film still in the early stages of development, there are still plenty of details we don’t know, such as who might star in the movie or when or how it will be released, such as in cinemas or directly onto Disney+ and Hulu.
