“Zootropolis 2″ & “Avatar: Fire and Ash” Win At The BAFTAS

Disney had a successful Sunday evening at the EE BAFTA Film Awards, which took place at the Royal Festival Hall in London, picking up two awards.

Walt Disney Animation’s “Zootropolis 2”, aka “Zootopia 2”, picked up the award for Best animated film, beating out “Little Amelie” and Pixar’s “Elio”.

“Zootropolis 2″ follows rookie cops Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde, who find themselves on the twisting trail of a great mystery when Gary De’Snake arrives in Zootropolis and turns the animal metropolis upside down. To crack the case, Judy and Nick must go undercover to unexpected new parts of town, where their growing partnership is tested like never before.  “Zootropolis 2″  is currently showing in cinemas and on digital platforms, with it coming to Disney+ later this year.

20th Century Studios’ epic adventure, “Avatar: Fire & Ash” won the award for Special Visual Effects, beating out “F1”, “Frankenstein”, “The Lost Bus” and “How To Train Your Dragon”.

“Avatar: Fire and Ash” is the third film in the phenomenally successful “Avatar” franchise and takes audiences back to Pandora in an immersive new adventure with Marine turned Na’vi leader Jake Sully (SamWorthington), Na’vi warrior Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña), and the Sully family.  The movie is currently showing in cinemas and will be coming to Disney+ later this year.
