Zahn McClarnon Says Marvel’s “Echo” Disney+ Series Is Worth The Wait
This November, Marvel Studios will release a brand new series called “Echo”, which is the origin story of Echo, where we revisit Maya Lopez, whose ruthless behaviour in New York City (during the “Hawkeye” series) catches up with her in her hometown. She must face her past, reconnect with her Native American roots and embrace the meaning of family and community if she ever hopes to move forward.
“Echo” stars Alaqua Cox, Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal, Devery Jacobs, Cody Lightning, Graham Greene and Zahn McClarnon. The show has been executive produced by Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Stephen Broussard, Richie Palmer, Marion Dayre, Jason Gavin, Amy Rardin, Sydney Freeland, Christina King and Jennifer Booth.
Zahn McClarnon recently spoke with Entertainment Weekly about several projects and shared an update on his part in the upcoming Marvel Studios series, “Echo”.
“I wasn’t involved with the show as much as I am with the other shows, obviously,” he says, referring to the AMC and FX projects. “It was much smaller, my footprint on the show… I only worked [in Atlanta] a couple of weeks and it was a wonderful experience. I think they got some good scripts that were written by native writers and they’ve got Sydney Freeland, who’s an amazing Navajo director on the set, at the helm.”
He also spoke about how the delays to the series being released on Disney+ have led to increased anticipation for the show:
“It’s Marvel, first. You know, that’s worth the wait right there. It was a wonderful experience, and I think people are gonna enjoy Echo. What I read and what I saw going on down there was amazing. I was very happy to be a part of it again,”
The entire “Echo” season will be released at once on Disney+ on November 29th, 2023.
