Star Wars: The Mandalorian has been a runaway success for Disney+ and while we know a second season of the show is due to come to the streaming service in October, Variety has revealed that work is now underway on a third season.

The shows creator Jon Favreau has been writing the third season for a while and the art department have been working on concepts for the show for the past few weeks. And the production design department also started work on the third season this week since they need “such a huge lead time”. Variety’s source said:

“We’ve just started pre-production and are looking into further adventures for the Mandalorian in Season 3,”

Luckily, Disney was able to finish filming on the second season just before the Coronavirus situation caused filming on other projects.

It will still be early days in the production of the series, but it looks like “The Mandalorian” will be part of Disney+ for a while yet!
