Disney has announced a brand new Australia Original special called “Windows Of Wonder”, is going to be coming to Disney+ in Australia on Friday, 17th November 2023.   It has not been announced if this Disney+ Original will be available outside of Australia.

In celebration of Disney 100, the Myers flagship store in Melbourne, Australia, had its window display transformed, transporting audiences through time and across the decades, with the creation of six windows that define the history of Disney.  In this documentary, we go behind the scenes to witness dreams become reality; from rough sketches to handcrafted models to launch day, we follow the process behind a project of passion, history and the magic of storytelling.

This documentary takes a look at the work that went into the display, which took over the Myers Christmas Window last year.  It took over 12 months of preparation and planning to create the 6-window storyboard, using traditional workmanship and modern technology.

The window displays showcased over 40 characters and reenacted many different classic Disney film moments, including:

• Mary Poppins riding the merry-go-round with Bert and the Banks children,
• Mickey and Minnie doing the hula from the Mickey Shorts,
• Frozen’s Elsa at her coronation becoming The Snow Queen,
• Peter Pan and friends flying through the starry night skies of London,
• Lion King’s Simba, Nala, Timon, Pumbaa, Zazu, and Rafiki atop Pride Rock,
• And the Walt Disney opening sequence featuring Tinkerbell in all her shining, shimmering glory.
