When Is “Star Wars: The Mandalorian & Grogu” Coming To Disney+?

After three seasons of adventures on Disney+, The Mandalorian and Grogu are making the leap to the big screen for their next adventure in an all-new original film.

The evil Empire has fallen, and Imperial warlords remain scattered throughout the galaxy. As the fledgling New Republic works to protect everything the Rebellion fought for, they have enlisted the help of legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and his young apprentice Grogu.

Directed by Jon Favreau, “Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu” is written by Jon Favreau & Dave Filoni & Noah Kloor, and is produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Ian Bryce, Jon Favreau, and Dave Filoni, with Karen Gilchrist, John Bartnicki, and Carrie Beck serving as executive producers. The music is composed by Ludwig Göransson.

When Is “Star Wars: The Mandalorian & Grogu” Released?

“Star Wars: The Mandalorian & Grogu” is being released exclusively in cinemas on May 22nd 2026.

When Will “Star Wars: The Mandalorian & Grogu” Be On Disney+?

Currently, no official Disney+ release date has yet been announced.

While we’ve seen The Mandalorian and Grogu previously as a Disney+ Original, the shift to focusing on fewer, but better projects and spending less money on creating original content for the streaming service, the franchise is going back to cinemas.

Generally, new films that have been released theatrically first usually take around three months or a hundred days to go from their initial premiere in cinemas to Disney+. That could, in theory, result in “The Mandalorian and Grogu” arriving on Disney+ at the end of August or the beginning of September.

However, Disney does sometimes extend the length of its theatrical releases, if the film is doing well at the box office, delaying a streaming release to four months, even up to six months for the “Avatar” franchise. So it’s also possible that “The Mandalorian and Grogu” could drop much later this year.
