When Is “Aliens: Romulus” Coming To Disney+ & Hulu?
This August, 20th Century Studios is releasing a new instalment in one of its longest-running franchises, “Aliens”, called “Aliens: Romulus” in cinemas around the world on August 16th 2024.
The sci-fi/horror-thriller takes the phenomenally successful “Alien” franchise back to its roots: While scavenging the deep ends of a derelict space station, a group of young space colonizers come face to face with the most terrifying life form in the universe.
The film stars Cailee Spaeny (“Priscilla”), David Jonsson (“Agatha Christie’s Murder is Easy”), Archie Renaux (“Shadow and Bone”), Isabela Merced (“The Last of Us”), Spike Fearn (“Aftersun”), Aileen Wu. Fede Alvarez (“Evil Dead,” “Don’t Breathe”) directs from a screenplay he wrote with frequent collaborator Rodo Sayagues (“Don’t Breathe 2”) based on characters created by Dan O’Bannon and Ronald Shusett. “Alien: Romulus” is produced by Ridley Scott (“Napoleon”), who directed the original “Alien” and produced and directed the series’ entries “Prometheus” and “Alien: Covenant,” Michael Pruss (“Boston Strangler”), and Walter Hill (“Alien”), with Fede 2 Alvarez, Elizabeth Cantillon (“Charlie’s Angels”), Brent O’Connor (“Bullet Train”), and Tom Moran (“Unstoppable”) serving as executive producers.

When Will “Aliens: Romulus” Be On Disney+ and Hulu?
Unfortunately, Disney hasn’t officially announced when “Alien: Romulus” will be released on Hulu and Disney+.
As with all of Disney’s recent theatrical releases, we will it’s unlikely we will see “Alien: Romulus” available exclusively in cinemas for a few months. This is because Disney is focusing on theatrical releases to try to make more money, which is why movies are released in cinemas for a couple of months, before eventually being released on digital platforms to purchase, before eventually being made available on Hulu and Disney+.
Also, since “Aliens: Romulus” is rated R, it’s likely we will see the film released on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States.
Here’s a look at how many days it took for some of the previous 20th Century Studios movies to go from theatrical to streaming:
- Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes – 84 Days
- The First Omen – 55 Days
- The Creator – 82 Days
- A Haunting In Venice – 45 Days
- The Boogeyman – 125 Days
As you can see from the last five significant releases from 20th Century Studios, it’s very hard to guess exactly when “Alien: Romulus” will be made available on Disney+ and Hulu. As a pure guess, I wouldn’t be surprised if “Alien: Romulus” arrived on Hulu and Disney+ at the end of October, just in time for a boost in viewership for Halloween.
