It’s Sunday and time for us to take a look at what’s trending on Disney+ this week.  Once again, “The Simpsons” tops the trending chart, showcasing the popularity of this series.  Recently, a new season was added onto Disney+ in the United States, which will have given the show another boost, plus fans are also checking out the “Treehouse Of Terror” episodes for Halloween.

With the release of the making of “Black Widow” special, the film also got a boost of views.

As per usual, there is a massive difference between the US, Canada and UK trending charts, as internationally, Disney+ subscribers continue to binge on major mature shows like “Family Guy”, “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Criminal Minds”, while in the US, Disney Channel shows like “Bluey” and “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse” dominate the majority of the trending chart.

The trending chart would be way more interesting if Disney had a better algorithm. I’d love to see Halloween movies and specials dominate trending in the US right now, as well as be more prominent on the charts in other countries as well. It’s a little bit better outside the US, but even those titles are pretty consistent and already well know. Trending should be whatever’s gotten the largest spike in viewership, not mainly the same titles glued to the list because they’re always the most popular.

I suppose it depends how they work it out, if its based on views or minutes watched, which might be why popular shows just keep dominating.
