With the summer slowly coming to a close and kids getting ready to go back to school, it’s time to look at what’s coming to Disney+ in the UK and Ireland in the coming months ahead, which includes many original British shows.   Expect these new shows to be released globally on Disney+ and on Hulu in the United States.

Here’s a look at some of the highlights:


Welcome To Wrexham – Season 2

Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds run Wrexham Football Club as they try to create an underdog story that the world can root for From Hollywood to Wales, the docuseries tracks their crash course in ownership and the interwoven fates of a team and a town.

Weekly releases on Disney+ from 13th September


Culprits – Autumn 2023

Culprits explores the law of unintended consequences, when a crew who have gone their separate ways following a high stakes robbery find themselves being targeted by a killer one-by-one. The cast includes Gemma Arterton, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, Eddie Izzard, Kirby Howell-Baptiste and Niamh Algar. Mixing dark drama, with moments of absurdity and jet-black comedy, Culprits is a propulsive thriller where the extraordinary and the everyday live side by side, the past and present collide and where you can never really leave your old self behind. The series kicks off where most crime stories end. What happens after a heist, when the crew have gone their separate ways, and everything suddenly starts to go scarily wrong. The question is, why, and who is behind the mayhem?


Brawn: The Impossible Formula 1 Story

This brand-new unscripted four-part documentary series with Keanu Reeves (“John Wick,” “The Matrix Resurrections”) tells the remarkable story of how, in 2009, competing in the most expensive and technologically advanced racing series on Earth, the impossible happened. An understaffed, underfinanced and independent team won the World Championship – with a team that cost just £1. Go behind the scenes of this Formula 1 fairytale with the people who were there – on the track, in the garage and the boardroom – giving their own thrilling versions of a miraculous year. Expect exclusive access to the F1 archives – much of it previously unseen – from a year that global sport will never forget, with contributions from British F1 driver Jenson Button and Ross Brawn, who led the team to victory.


The Other Black Girl

Nella, an editorial assistant, is tired of being the only black girl at her company, so she’s excited when Hazel is hired. But as Hazel’s star begins to rise, Nella makes a shockingly sinister discovery and quickly spirals out of control. Starring Sinclair Daniel, Ashleigh Murray, Brittany Adebumola, Hunter Marrish. Executive Producers include actress Rashida Jones.

Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story

The three-part Disney+ documentary looks at the jaw-dropping libel case that gripped the nation in 2022.  The series will be told through exclusive access to the woman at the heart of it all, Coleen Rooney, alongside interviews with family, friends and key players involved in the resulting trial. Uncovering one of the biggest tabloid news stories in Britain for the last decade, it reveals how Coleen turned amateur online sleuth to find an explanation for why private stories concerning herself and her family continued to appear in the media. The three-part series looks at the circumstances that led to her infamous Instagram post that ‘broke the Internet’ all the way to Coleen successfully defending herself in one of the UK’s highest-profile High Court defamation cases of recent years. As well as the case itself, we will explore how Coleen has had her life played out in public for the last 20 years. We know her as one of Britain’s most famous celebrities and wife of England’s record-scoring footballer Wayne Rooney.


The Kardashians – Season 4

The family you know and love is here with a brand new series, giving an all access pass into their lives. Kris, Kourtney, Kim, Khloé, Kendall and Kylie bring the cameras back to give truth to their stories. From the intense pressures of running billion-dollar businesses to the hilarious joys of playtime and school drop-offs, this series brings viewers into the fold with a rivetingly honest story of love and life in the spotlight.

New episodes will be available every Thursday from September 28th.


Loki – Season 2

Marvel Studios’ first-ever second season of a series. It features Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson, Sophia Di Martino and Gugu Mbatha-Raw, picking up immediately where Season 1 left off.

“Loki” arrives on Disney+ with a weekly release from October 6th 2023


Lions Of Sicily

Set between 1800 and 1861, the eight-part series follows the Florio family as brothers Paolo and Ignazio, two small spice merchants, escape from a Calabria stuck in the past – in search of social redemption. In Sicily they invent their future, turning a small, run-down shop into a flourishing business activity that young Vincenzo, with his revolutionary ideas, will transform into an economic empire. However, overwhelming Vincenzo’s life and that of the entire family is the disruptive arrival of Giulia, a strong and intelligent woman who acts in contrast with the rigid rules of the society of the time.

Launching on Disney+ on October 25th 2023


Justified: City Primeval

Starring Timothy Olyphant, Aunjanue Ellis and Boyd Holbrook. Raylan Givens left the hollers of Kentucky and is balancing life as a U.S. Marshal with being a part-time father. A chance encounter sends him to Detroit and on a collision course with a violent sociopath and a formidable defense attorney.

Coming to Disney+ on September 6th 2023


No One Will Save You

No One Will Save You introduces Brynn Adams (Kaitlyn Dever), a creative and talented young woman who’s been alienated from her community. Lonely but ever hopeful, Brynn finds solace within the walls of the home where she grew up—until she’s awakened one night by strange noises from decidedly unearthly intruders. What follows is an action-packed face-off between Brynn and a host of extraterrestrial beings who threaten her future, while forcing her to deal with her past.

This original film arrives on Disney+ on 22nd September.


Animals Up Close With Bertie Gregory

Bertie Gregory travels the world to show extraordinary animals’ daily lives like never before. Armed with state-of-the-art tech, he and his team brave extreme conditions to reveal the challenges these animals endure. “Animals Up Close with Bertie Gregory” shows all the moments he and his team face while adapting to unpredictable wildlife in remote environments where filming rarely goes as planned.

This new documentary series arrives on September 13th 2023.


Ahsoka

Set after the fall of the Empire, “Star Wars: Ahsoka” follows the former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.

New episodes are being released every Wednesday until October


This Fool – Season 2

This Fool is an irreverent, cinematic half-hour comedy set in working class South Central Los Angeles. The show centres around Julio Lopez, a 30-year-old who still lives at home, has been dating his girlfriend on and off since high school, and finds any excuse to avoid dealing with his own problems. Julio works at Hugs Not Thugs, a gang rehabilitation non-profit, where he butts heads with his older cousin Luis, an ex-gang member who just got out of prison and moved in with Julio and his family. Starring Chris Estrada, Michelle Ortiz, Frankie Quiñones and Michael Imperioli.

The second season arrives on September 27th 2023.


The Little Mermaid

Reimagines the beloved story of Ariel, a curious mermaid who longs to experience life on land and, against her father’s wishes, visits the surface. Ariel finds herself on an unexpected journey of self-discovery as she encounters a prince, a sea witch, and an incredible new world. Starring Halle Bailey, Jonah Hauer-King, Javier Bardem, Melissa McCarthy and Awkwafina.

“The Little Mermaid” arrives on Disney+ on September 6th 2023.
