What To Watch On Disney+ This Weekend | Bono & The Edge: A Sort Of Homecoming, With Dave Letterman
Legendary comedian David Letterman catches up with U2 members, Bono and the Edge, in Ireland. The Mandalorian continues his redemption journey. And the role that introduced to the world to Neil Patrick Harris is now available to stream. Let’s check out what to watch this weekend on Disney+.
BONO & THE EDGE: A SORT OF HOMECOMING, WITH DAVID LETTERMAN
Academy Award-winning filmmaker Morgan Neville captures Dave Letterman on his first visit to Dublin to hang out with Bono and The Edge in their hometown, experience Dublin, and join the two U2 musicians for a concert performance unlike any they’ve done before.
THE MANDALORIAN
After the defeat of the Empire at the hands of Rebel forces, a lone bounty hunter operating in the Outer Rim, away from the dominion of the New Republic, goes on many surprising and risky adventures.
STAR WARS: THE BAD BATCH
“Star Wars: The Bad Batch” follows the elite and experimental clones of the Bad Batch (first introduced in “The Clone Wars”) as they find their way in a rapidly changing galaxy in the immediate aftermath of the Clone War. Members of Bad Batch—a unique squad of clones who vary genetically from their brothers in the Clone Army—each possess a singular exceptional skill that makes them extraordinarily effective soldiers and a formidable crew.
In Season 2, months have passed since the events on Kamino and the Bad Batch continue their journey navigating the Empire after the fall of the Republic. They will cross paths with friends and foes, both new and familiar, as they take on a variety of thrilling mercenary missions that will take them to unexpected and dangerous new places.
VOICES RISING: THE MUSIC OF WAKANDA FOREVER
London’s Abbey Road is one of the most iconic recording studios in the world. Late in the summer of 2022, an international team of musicians and engineers led by Ludwig Göransson descend on the studio for 10 days to record the score for “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.” Göransson works with modern recording artists like Jorja Smith and Burna Boy, putting the finishing touches on the score and soundtrack. The episode also features Letitia Wright, who reflects on the score and its role in the film’s extraordinary reception.
TURNING THE TABLES WITH ROBIN ROBERTS
In season two, Roberts gets personal with a new group of Hollywood’s iconic women, where they reveal new insights into their incredible journeys on their path to purpose. Each episode features profoundly moving and inspirational conversations centering around real-life topics, including grace, fulfillment, certainty and community. The women detail the struggles they have faced on their journeys through fame in a safe and comforting environment: your best friend’s couch! Listen to never-before-heard stories of how these groundbreakers, from a Gold Medal Olympian to an Emmy Award-winning actress, came face-to-face with their vulnerability, authenticity and intuition to create room for expansion and evolution.
DOOGIE HOWSER, M.D.
Douglas Howser is a doctor. He is also a 16-year-old genius, he graduated college at age 10 and finished medical school at age 14. But he is still a teenager, with normal teenage friends and problems. Like all adolescents, he feels that his father doesn’t understand him. He is just learning to drive, and just starting to pay attention to girls even while consulting on serious medical causes like heart transplants. It’s a funny and touching story about growing up with more than the usual responsibilities and demands.
HIPPO VS CROC
Two of Africa’s deadliest species tough it out against everything nature throws at them.
MELODY TIME
And, if you are looking for some library content, check out “Melody Time.” This film from Disney’s Wartime Era of Animation is similar to “Fantasia.” However, instead of mixing animation with classical music, “Melody Time” mixes animation with contemporary music from the 1940s. It also features the returns of Jiminy Cricket and Jose Carioca.
Those are some of my picks. What will you be watching on Disney+ this weekend?
