You might be looking for some films and TV shows to watch this Valentine’s Day to get you in the mood. There is plenty of love story movies to watch on Disney+, offering something for everyone to enjoy, whatever their relationship status!
Disney+ has also updated its ‘Valentine’s Collection, which has categories dedicated to romcoms, romantic dramas, young love and much more! This collection will vary depending on your location, and in the United States, you may need a Hulu subscription to watch the more grown-up films.
Here are some suggestions for Valentine’s Day:
Enchanted
This adorable take on the classic fairytales is a modern-day love story about Princess Giselle, who is banished from her kingdom by her lover’s evil stepmother. She is then transported to the real world, where she meets a lawyer and finds herself falling for him. You’ll also find the sequel, “Disenchanted” available exclusively on Disney+.
West Side Story
In this remake of the classic 1960s musical by Steven Spielberg, Tony, a young man affiliated with a Caucasian gang, meets and falls in love with Maria, the sister of a Puerto Rican gangster. As a result, they face many challenges in their quest to unite. If you fancy a musical adventure and to get a preview of the new Snow White in action, maybe add this to your watch list for Valentine’s.
The Little Mermaid
This classic Disney story is about the youngest of King Triton’s daughters, Ariel, a beautiful and spirited young mermaid with a thirst for adventure. Longing to find out more about the world beyond the sea, Ariel visits the surface and falls for the dashing Prince Eric. Following her heart, she makes a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, to experience life on land. There are two different versions of this film, the iconic animated version from the late 1990s and a live-action adaptation starring Halle Bailey as Ariel.
Cinderella
This classic fairytale story is about Ella, who resides with her abusive stepmother and her daughters, who continuously make her suffer at home. Her life changes when she meets a handsome man of nobility who gives her a chance to become free. As with many movies on this list, there are two versions, animated and live-action, giving you two different takes on this iconic story.
Aladdin
The movie tells the story of Aladdin, a kind thief, who woos Jasmine, the princess of Agrabah, with the help of Genie. When Jafar, the grand vizier, tries to usurp the king, Jasmine, Aladdin and Genie must stop him from succeeding. There are two versions of this classic story, with Robin Williams playing the iconic role of the Genie in the animated version and Will Smith making the character his own in the live-action version.
Beauty And The Beast
It is an iconic story that is a tale as old as time… It sees Belle embark on a journey to save her father from a creature that has locked him in his dungeon. Eventually, she learns that the beast is an enchanted prince who has been cursed. You’ll find both the original animated version and the live-action remake, which stars Emma Watson as Belle.
Princess And The Frog
Disney doesn’t make too many 2D animated films nowadays, and this adorable movie tells the story of a young waitress, Tiana, who embarks on a hilarious adventure after her fateful kiss with a frog prince who cannot wait to be human again. This classic animated film is undoubtedly worth cuddling up on the sofa to watch over Valentine’s!
The Princess Diaries
This charming Disney movie from the early 2000s stars Anne Hathaway as a clumsy, shy teen who discovers that she’s the princess of a small European state. She is then coached and must prove that she is worthy of her title while trying to make it through her school year. You’ll also find the sequel available on Disney+ too.

Jake, who is paraplegic, replaces his twin on the Na’vi-inhabited Pandora for a corporate mission. After the natives accept him as one of their own, he must decide where his loyalties lie as he falls in love with Neytiri! With the third movie hitting cinemas this Christmas, going back to rewatch the first two movies is always a great idea.
Prom Pact
It is the height of prom season, but high school senior Mandy Yang has her sights set on a singular goal: attending Harvard. When she finds out she has been deferred, she is determined to do whatever she can to get herself off the waitlist, even if that means asking the one person who represents everything she abhors, all-star jock Graham Lansing, whose father is a powerful senator and Harvard alum. This teenage original movie is exclusive to Disney+ and offers something a little more modern for teenagers to enjoy this Valentine’s.
Elemental
In a city where fire, water, land, and air residents live together, a fiery young woman and a go-with-the-flow guy discover something elemental: how much they actually have in common. This adorable Pixar original movie is a classic girl meets guy story, but with a twist that older audiences will recognise and younger viewers will be unaware of, making it the perfect animated movie to watch as a family on Valentine’s!
Lady & The Tramp
This classic love story is about Lady, who is distraught when she is blamed for all the havoc that Sarah’s cats caused in her owners’ house. Things take a turn when Lady runs away, and Tramp, a street dog, saves her. Much like many of the films on this list, there are two options available: the animated classic and a live-action version exclusive to Disney+. No doubt there will be lovers around the world recreating the classic Spaghetti scene on Valentine’s Day!
