Marvel fans won’t have to wait too much longer for the upcoming second season of the first Marvel Studios animated show, “What If?”, as while it was originally scheduled to arrive on Disney+ in early 2023, due to it suffering from multiple delays, the show will now arrive on Disney+ around this year’s Christmas Day, according to a new report from THR. However, no official release date has yet been announced.

“What If…?” flips the script on the MCU, reimagining famous events from the films in unexpected ways. Marvel Studios’ first animated series focuses on different heroes from the MCU, featuring a voice cast that includes a host of stars who reprise their roles. The series is directed by Bryan Andrews, with AC Bradley as head writer, and features signature MCU action with a curious twist.

The first season of “What If?” was released on Disney+ in the summer of 2021 and was quickly picked up for a second season before one episode even aired on Disney+. The first season featured various stories, which introduced variant versions of many characters involved in the “Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness” film.

The new season isn’t going to be holiday-related, but Disney is trying to space out its Marvel projects a little more, to spread out the budgets, in addition to also trying to reduce superhero fatigue, which is impacting on viewing numbers and box office results.
