Deadline has revealed that Violet Young will be starring in the upcoming Hulu Original comedy series, “Life & Beth”, where she will be playing the younger version of the title character, Beth, who will be played by Amy Schumer, who is also the writer, director and executive producer on the show.

This new series follows Beth (Schumer), whose life looks pretty great on paper. Impressive to everyone she grew up with. She makes a good living as a wine distributor. She’s in a long-term relationship with an attractive, successful guy and lives in Manhattan. When a sudden incident forces Beth to engage with her past, her life changes forever. Through flashbacks to her teen self, Beth starts to learn how she became who she is and who she wants to become. We’ll go on her journey toward building a more authentic life. Learning to express herself and living in an intentional way. A trip down memory lane is a strong source of trauma, comedy and moving forward.

Also starring in the series will be Michael Rapaport, who will be playing Beth’s father.

Amy Schumer said in a statement to Deadline about the casting:

“Violet is the real deal. I can’t wait for people to see what she can do.”

“Life & Beth” is also executive produced by Kevin Kane, Daniel Powell and Ryan McFaul.

The series is being created by Endeavor Content, and they are dealing with the international distribution of the series, so it’s unlikely to also be available on Disney+ internationally.
