Filming on the upcoming Marvel Studios Disney+ series, “Daredevil: Born Again”, is due to begin this week in New York and is scheduled to take all year to film, since the series will consist of 18 episodes, which is three times the size of a typical Marvel Disney+ series.
The new Disney+ series will see Charlie Cox return to the role of Daredevil, and Vincent D’Onofrio is also returning as the Kingpin. Also starring in the new Disney+ series will be Michael Gandolfini, Sandrine Holt, Margarita Levieva and Nikki M. James.
Recently, Kingpin actor, Vincent D’Onofrio shared a number of updates on Twitter about the upcoming Disney+ series, saying:
Tomorrow might be my birthday but today is special because #DaredevilBornAgain starts filming today. Bringing back my favorite Marvel hero and the best live action villain
We arr definitely in deep glorious prep. Yet not quite shooting yet.
It’s going to be very very cool. Very different than the Netflix show which was as we know was amazing. Yet this is brand new and really smart. We are going to surprise everyone with it. And yes it’s going to be really cool.
I can only say… I’m trying to have to stick to the rules, so I will only say that Charlie and I are going to be given the chance to dig deeper than ever before with our characters.
The new show is currently scheduled to be released in Spring 2024, but obviously, schedules can change between then and now.
With filming scheduled to take the majority of this year, it might be a while until we learn what the show will be about, but hopefully, between then and now, we will find out more soon.
The previous Netflix Original series is also available to stream now on Disney+.
Are you looking forward to the return of “Daredevil”?
