Disney has announced that the National Geographic documentary series, “Trafficked with Mariana van Zeller” will be returning for a fourth season and that it has already begun production.    It was revealed at the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour that four episodes have already been filmed, and production on the fifth episode is happening next week.

“Trafficked with Mariana van Zeller” is an original documentary series presented by the award-winning journalist Mariana van Zeller, who explores the inner workings of the global underworld’s most dangerous black markets. In each episode, she journeys inside a different black market — from drugs to guns to tiger parts — to meet the players, learn the business, and unearth the geo-political circumstances and context that create the world’s multitrillion-dollar shadow economy.

The show is produced for National Geographic by Muck Media. For National Geographic, Bengt Anderson is executive producer; Matt Renner is executive producer and vice president, original programming and production; Alan Eyres is senior vice president of production and development; and Geoff Daniels is executive vice president of global unscripted entertainment.

The third season of “Trafficked With Mariana van Zeller” will be debuting on Wednesday, January 18th 2023 at 9:00 p.m. ET on National Geographic and new episodes will be available to stream the next day on Hulu.  The first two seasons of “Trafficked With Mariana van Zeller” are available to stream now on Hulu in the United States and on Disney+ internationally.
