Every month Disney+ adds new series and films to the service. It also adds new seasons of popular shows that are already on the service. Let’s take a look at the Top 5 Films and Series I’m excited to see each in July 2023.

1. SHARKFEST

National Geographic’s annual celebration of the ocean’s apex predator returns with dozens of new shark documentaries. There is something for everyone depending on what type of sharks you love to learn about and how you like your documentaries.

2. KIZAZI MOTO: GENERATION FIRE

Featuring stories from creators hailing from Egypt, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Uganda and Zimbabwe, “Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire” promises to take viewers on an unforgettable ride into Africa’s future, presenting visions of the continent as never before seen.

The action-packed animated anthology draws on the continent’s rich and diverse histories and cultures to present 10 sci-fi and fantasy stories featuring bold and brave new worlds of advanced technology, aliens, spirits, and monsters.

3. SECRET INVASION

Nick Fury’s attempt to stop a Skrull invasion from taking over Earth continues into July. The final four episodes of the Marvel and Disney+ Original limited series will air weekly throughout the month. This street level spy thriller feels like a cross between “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” and “Captain American and the Winter Solider.”

4. CLASSIC DISNEY SHORTS

As part of Disney’s 100 celebration, the company has announced it will be releasing several restored classic Disney animated shorts to the service. As a fan of the old school Disney animation, I’m thrilled to see some of these again and others for the very first time.

5. THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF MICKEY MOUSE: STEAMBOAT SILLY

The beloved Emmy Award-winning “The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse” shorts culminate with a final episode titled “Steamboat Silly,” which follows Mickey Mouse and his friends as they must stop hundreds of old film reel versions of Mickey from wreaking havoc all over town. The short will debut July 28 on Disney+ as part of Disney’s 100-year anniversary celebration.

Those are my picks. What are you excited to see on Disney+ in July?
