Every month Disney+ adds new series and films to the service. It also adds new seasons of popular shows that are already on the service. Let’s take a look at the Top 5 Films and Series I’m excited to see each in April 2023.

PETER PAN AND WENDY

“Peter Pan” is the latest animated Disney classic to get the live action treatment. While there have been several live action versions of “Peter Pan” made before now, I’m interested to see what course Disney takes with this one. Will it be a straight remake like “The Lion King” or will something be added in to make it feel different?

MATILDAS: THE WORLD AT OUR FEET

This documentary takes a look at the Australian national football team. That’s soccer football, not American football or Australian rules football. I’m interested to see how they train in their quest to make the women’s World Cup.

SECRETS OF THE ELEPHANTS

As part of James Cameron’s vaunted “Secrets of” series, this documentary, set to be released on Earth Day, gives an in-depth look at elephants. I’m hoping it will be vastly superior to the DisneyNature “Elephants” documentary.

OSWALD THE LUCKY RABBIT

Disney is releasing a new short based on the character Walt created before Mickey Mouse. It will be interesting to see what path Disney takes after re-acquiring the rights to the character in a trade with NBC for sportscaster Al Michaels.

THE MANDALORIAN

And new episodes of one of the most popular Disney+ series continue in the month of April. I love seeing the story of the Mandalorian and can’t wait to see how it continue to build on the universe.
