Each month, we take a look at what are the most popular series globally on Disney+, which is tracked daily on the trending list and takes into consideration how popular a show is and how long it has been popular on Disney+. This means that shows released earlier in the month tend to perform better on this chart.

January saw the biggest new series of the month, “The Book Of Boba Fett” dominate the trending chart right through the month, with new episodes being released weekly.

Many of the more established series continue to be a huge draw internationally on Disney+, with mature shows from Star such as “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Family Guy” consistently being some of the most viewed shows on the platform.

Here’s the most popular series on Disney+ globally in January 2022:

1) The Book Of Boba Fett

“The Book of Boba Fett,” a thrilling Star Wars adventure teased in a surprise end-credit sequence following the Season 2 finale of “The Mandalorian,” finds legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett and mercenary Fennec Shand navigating the galaxy’s underworld when they return to the sands of Tatooine to stake their claim on the territory once ruled by Jabba the Hutt and his crime syndicate.

With new episodes dropping each week, this has kept the series high up the trending charts globally.


2) Hawkeye

Marvel Studios’ “Hawkeye” stars Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, who teams up with another well-known archer from the Marvel comics, Kate Bishop, played by Hailee Steinfeld. Unsurprisingly, this is the biggest hit on Disney+ in December.


3) The Simpsons

This classic animated sitcom is one of the most popular series on Disney+. It’s set in Springfield, the average American town, the show focuses on the antics and everyday adventures of the Simpson family; Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie, as well as a virtual cast of thousands. Since the beginning, the series has been a pop culture icon, attracting hundreds of celebrities to guest star. The show has also made name for itself in its fearless satirical take on politics, media and American life in general. There are 33 seasons of this long-running show, with over 700 episodes, making it the perfect binge show to watch on Disney+, plus new episodes from the latest season are dropping weekly in some countries like Canada and Australia, which help keep this series high in the trending chart.


4) The Mandalorian

After the fall of the Galactic Empire, lawlessness has spread throughout the galaxy. A lone gunfighter makes his way through the outer reaches, earning his keep as a bounty hunter.

With “The Book Of Boba Fett” hitting Disney+, many fans have gone back to catch up on previous seasons of “The Mandalorian.

5) Grey’s Anatomy

Follows the personal and professional lives of a group of doctors at Seattle’s Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. This is one of the longest-running shows from ABC and is continuously a top trending show on Disney+ in many countries, especially with new episodes from season 18 being released weekly in some countries.


6) Loki

Marvel Studios’ “Loki” features the God of Mischief as he steps out of his brother’s shadow in a new Disney+ series that takes place after the events of “Avengers: Endgame.” Tom Hiddleston returns as the title character, joined by Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku and Richard E. Grant. This was the biggest new release of the summer and has continued to pull in viewers since its debut in June.


7) Marvel’s What If?

“What If…?” flips the script on the MCU, reimagining famous events from the films in unexpected ways. Marvel Studios’ first animated series focuses on different heroes from the MCU, featuring a voice cast that includes a host of stars who reprise their roles.


8) Family Guy

Sick, twisted, politically incorrect and Freakin’ Sweet animated series featuring the adventures of the dysfunctional Griffin family. Bumbling Peter and long-suffering Lois have three kids. Stewie (a brilliant but sadistic baby bent on killing his mother and taking over the world), Meg (the oldest, and is the most unpopular girl in town) and Chris (the middle kid, he’s not very bright but has a passion for movies). The final member of the family is Brian – a talking dog and much more than a pet, he keeps Stewie in check whilst sipping Martinis and sorting through his own life issues. This is another extremely popular series internationally on Disney+, especially with brand new episodes being released weekly in many countries.


9) Marvel’s Spidey & His Amazing Friends

Follow Peter Parker, Gwen Stacy, and Miles Morales and their adventures as the young heroes team up with Hulk, Ms. Marvel, and Black Panther to take down foes like Rhino, Doc Oock, and Green Goblin.


10) Modern Family

The Pritchett-Dunphy-Tucker clan is a wonderfully large and blended family. They give us an honest and often hilarious look into the sometimes warm, sometimes twisted, embrace of the modern family.
