Tom Holland Won’t Return As Spider-Man Unless It’s Worthwhile
One of the biggest films of the last few years has been “Spider-Man: No Way Home”, which was the sixth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to feature Tom Holland as your friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man.
While Sony has been busy creating a string of films within the Spider-Verse, including “Morbius”, “Kraven The Hunter”, “Venom 3”, “Madame Web” and “Across The Spider-Verse”, fans have been waiting to find out when Tom Holland might suit back up and return for another film, but as of yet, nothing official has been announced.
During a recent press conference with the Critics Choice Association, Tom Holland spoke with Collider and revealed more about when he might suit up again as Spider-Man.
All I can say is that we have been actively engaging in conversations about what it could potentially look like for a fourth rendition of my character. Whether or not we can find a way to do justice to the character is another thing. I feel very protective over Spider-Man. I feel very, very lucky that we were able to work on a franchise that got better with each movie, that got more successful with each movie, which I think is really rare, and I want to protect his legacy. So, I won’t make another one for the sake of making another one. It will have to be worth the while of the character.
Tom Holland also mentions:
“But that said, if we can figure that out, I would be a fool not to put the suit back on again because I owe everything to Spider-Man. I love the character and the people I get to work with. So, I would love to tell another story, but I’ll only tell it if we can find the right one
With “No Way Home” being a huge box office success, it’s not a huge surprise to see fans, Marvel and Sony all wanting to see Tom Holland return, but perhaps with a break away from the franchise, it’s giving creators time to put together a strong plan for his return. It also wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see Spider-Man return for the upcoming Avengers movies, “Kang Dynasty” and “Secret Wars”. But we might have to wait a little longer to find out.
While we wait to see a new “Spider-Man” film, you can stream many of the “Spider-Man” films now on Disney+.
