Disney has announced that the second season of the popular Japanese Anime series, “Tokyo Revengers”, is going to be premiering Disney+ in Canada from Sunday 8th January 2023, the day after the first episode is released in Japan.

Last month, during a special Asia-Pacific content showcase event in Singapore, Disney announced acquired the worldwide distribution rights to the series, and confirmed the series would be released in many countries across the region, including in Japan. So we should also expect the series to be released on Disney+ in other countries too, similar to how it has been releasing another popular anime series, “Bleach: Thousand Years Blood War”. For fans based in Japan, the series will continue to air on local networks, including AT-X, TV Tokyo, and MBS.

The series tells the story of Takemichi Hanagaki, who is at a low point in his life, living on part-time jobs, when he learns that his girlfriend from junior high, Hinata Tachibana, has been killed by the vicious Tokyo Manji Gang. The next day, Takemichi is standing on a train platform when he feels someone push him onto the tracks. Just when he thinks he’s about to die, he opens his eyes to find himself time-slipped twelve years in the past. Having time slipped to the best times of his life, his junior high school days, Takemichi decides to change himself, stop running away from things, and save his girlfriend. So begins the revenge for his life!

The first season debuted in April 2021 and aired for 24 episodes. It hasn’t yet been confirmed if the first season will also be made available on Disney+ in Canada yet, as it was previously released on Crunchyroll.
