Jeff Goldblum returns to Disney+ with five brand new episodes of his Disney+ Original series, “The World According To Jeff Goldblum”, on Wednesday 19th January 2022.

The next batch of episodes from this series sees the excentric actor Jeff Goldblum return as our playful and inquisitive guide to share some surprising secrets about five completely different topics, Puzzles, Motorcycles, Tiny Things, Backyards and Birthdays.

Puzzles

In this episode, Jeff Goldblum investigates why humans love solving puzzles and, along the way, takes part in an escape room, plus leads how to be an air traffic controller. This was one of the more exciting episodes out of this batch, because exploring why humans love puzzles so much makes sense. We like to be stimulated and challenged, so this episode seemed to fit much more with Jeff’s presenting style of being awed and learning what makes us all tick.

Tiny Things

This is an episode that sees Jeff visit LEGOland and investigates why people love to build things, including spending some time with some kids building LEGO versions of themselves. We also get to see Jeff taking part in making a video of him cooking in a tiny kitchen for a popular YouTube channel. I think because I also enjoy building LEGO and was fascinated with Jeff making a tiny portion of spaghetti and meatballs. A highlight of this season.

Motorcycles

As you would expect from an episode about Motorcycles, Jeff explores the thrill of riding motorcycles. We get to hear from many different people about why they love motorbikes, why they like the bike culture, and bizarrely, Jeff ends up learning how to trapeze. It was also great to hear more about the shift to electric motorbikes. Personally, I’m not a big fan of motorbikes, but this was a nice easy going episode.

Backyards

In this episode, Jeff explores the crazy world of backyards and gardens in general. He visits a guy who has built a huge pirate playpark in his garden, along with a local allotment project, where kids learn how to grow food. There wasn’t anything in this episode which stood out as being that amazing, but it was a pretty solid episode.

Birthdays

Jeff Goldblum recalls that he isn’t a big fan of birthdays and even forgot one as a child. So to learn more about why people like Birthdays, he heads off to several different birthday parties to find out why people love them so much and further explores why people are so interested in them. It’s one of my least favourite episodes out of this batch, because Birthdays feels like they’ve literally just opened a dictionary and just randomly picked a word to investigate.

Much like with previous episodes of this show, if you aren’t interested in the topic matter, an episode can be a hit and miss. However, Jeff’s charisma is what makes this show so unique, so if you like him, you’ll like this show too.

Each episode is around 25 to 30 minutes long. I’d personally recommend spreading out watching them, rather than binging the lot in a one go.

As with previous episodes, all of the topics are very different, though Jeff Goldblum’s reaction is generally the same, at first, he will be shocked, then he’ll be confused until he finally gets it and embraces the topic at hand.

Once again, this series is extremely well made, with plenty of fun moments, but ultimately, it’s going to come down to if you enjoy Jeff Goldblum’s presentation style or not, because if you don’t like him, this is a show to skip. But, if you’re like me and a fan of his rather strange way of looking at life, you should be in a for a treat.

If you enjoyed the previous episodes, you’ll enjoy this next batch of episodes.
