Disney has released a new poster for the upcoming double-episode holiday special for “The Simpsons”, which will be coming exclusively to Disney+ on Tuesday 17th December 2024.

The longest-running primetime scripted show in television history, “The Simpsons” exploded into popular culture in 1989 and has remained one of the most groundbreaking and innovative entertainment franchises, recognizable throughout the world.

The beloved animated series focuses on the eponymous family in the town of Springfield in an unnamed U.S. state. The head of the Simpson family, Homer, is not a typical family man. A nuclear plant employee, he does his best to lead his family but often finds that they are leading him. The family includes loving, blue-haired matriarch Marge, troublemaking son Bart, overachieving daughter Lisa and baby Maggie. Other Springfield residents include the family’s religious neighbour, Ned Flanders, family physician Dr Hibbert, Moe, the bartender and police chief Clancy Wiggum.

In one of the episodes, called “O C’mon All Ye Faithful”, it tells the story of how the residents of Springfield search for Christmas cheer.

This will be the first time an exclusive holiday episode of “The Simpsons” will be released on Disney+, rather than directly on FOX in the United States.
