Disney has announced that the Searchlight Pictures film, “The Shape Of Water”, will be coming to Disney+ in the United Kingdom and Ireland on Friday 16th September 2022.

From master storyteller Guillermo del Toro comes “The Shape of Water” is an other-worldly fairy tale, set against the backdrop of Cold War era America, circa 1962. In the hidden high-security government laboratory where she works, lonely Elisa (Sally Hawkins) is trapped in a life of silence and isolation. Elisa’s life is changed forever when she and co-worker Zelda (Octavia Spencer) discover a secret classified experiment. Rounding out the cast are Michael Shannon, Richard Jenkins, Michael Stuhlbarg and Doug Jones.

“The Shape Of Water” was nominated for a total of 13 Oscars, including Best Achievement in Directing, Best Motion Picture of the Year, and Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role (Sally Hawkins), plus many other categories.
