Disney’s 20th Television Animation has extended an overall deal with Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin, who are the co-creators of the animated series, “The Great North”.
Under this new multi-year pact, the pair will continue to be executive showrunners on “The Great North”, which has recently been picked up for a fourth season.
As part of the deal, they will also continue to work as writers and executive producers on “Bob’s Burgers”, in addition to developing new projects for Disney’s platforms.
“The Great North” is returning for a third season on September 25th 2022, with episodes being released on Hulu the following day. This series is also released internationally on Disney+ as a Star Original.
In a statement, Marci Proietto, EVP, 20th Television Animation said to Deadline:
“Our relationship with Wendy and Lizzie has spanned over a decade of hilarious collaboration, from the very early days of ‘Bob’s Burgers through the creation and launch of ‘The Great North. Their ability to write uniquely strong characters while juggling work on multiple shows and development projects is unmatched, I couldn’t be happier to keep these incredibly funny, multi-talented women in the family.”
Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin said:
“We are genuinely thrilled to continue working with the team at 20th Television Animation. They let us be our strange selves in a way we could only have dreamed of and we couldn’t be more grateful for their input and support. Also we love the mugs they send us and we keep losing them so we really hope this relationship continues for years.”
The first two seasons of “The Great North” are available on Hulu now and on Disney+ internationally.
