“The Devil Wears Prada 2” Begins Production
Disney has officially announced that production has begun on a sequel to the hit movie, “The Devil Wears Prada”, in New York and Italy.
The original film was released in 2006 by 20th Century Studios and tells the story of what happens when Andy, a young graduate, with an aspiration to become a journalist, travels to New York. She starts working as an assistant to one of the city’s biggest magazine editors, the cynical Miranda Priestly.
The series will see Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci return for the sequel, with Kenneth Branagh joining the film, where he will play the role of Stanley’s character’s husband.
No plot details have been announced, though there was a sequel book released in 2013 called “Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns”, which follows Andy as the editor for a new bridal magazine while planning her own wedding and living in fear of her inevitable reunion with Miranda Priestley.
The sequel will be released in cinemas on May 1st 2026, so we should expect it to arrive on Disney+ a few months later.
The original “The Devil Wears Prada” movie is available to stream now on Disney+.
