“Strange World” Debuts On The Nielsen Streaming Chart
Nielsen has announced its top 10 streaming charts for the United States for the week of 26th December 2022 through to 1st January 2023. There are four different charts, Top 10 Originals, Acquired Shows, Movies and a combined total chart.
Following Christmas Day, the festive shows and films quickly slide out of the Nielsen streaming chart, with major new releases like “Glass Onion” pulling in enormous numbers for Netflix. The most significant new release for Disney+ was the new animated film, “Strange World”, which debuted just a few days before. With the success of “Avatar: The Way Of Water” in cinemas, audiences rewatching the original film boosted the film back into the top ten movies.
“Bluey” continues to be a massive draw for younger audiences for Disney+, while Disney’s shows made by ABC, such as “Grey’s Anatomy”, continue to pull in viewers on Netflix. These shows are available on Disney+ internationally, including “NCIS” in the UK.
