To tie in with the release of the new Disney+ Original series, “Star Wars: The Acolyte”, Disney will be showing the first two episodes of the series in twenty-six select theatres across the United States, giving some fans an opportunity to see the series before everyone else.

InThe Acolyte,” an investigation into a shocking crime spree pits a respected Jedi Master (Lee Jung-jae) against a dangerous warrior from his past (Amandla Stenberg). As more clues emerge, they travel down a dark path where sinister forces reveal all is not what it seems….

The first two episodes will be shown in theatres on June 3rd, 2024, a day before they are released on Disney+ on June 4th, 2024, at 6 pm PT/9 pm ET.

Tickets for this free event are available via Fandango.com.   Guests attending these screenings will get some complimentary refreshments, have photo opportunities, and be given a free poster!

The series stars Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, Charlie Barnett, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Dean-Charles Chapman, Joonas Suotamo, and Carrie-Anne Moss.

“The Acolyte” has been created by Leslye Headland, who directed the first two episodes and is also an executive producer along with Kathleen Kennedy, Simon Emanuel, Jeff F. King and Jason Micallef. Charmaine DeGraté and Kor Adana are the co-executive producers. Rayne Roberts, Damian Anderson, Eileen Shim and Rob Bredow are the producers.   Other directors on this series include Kogonada, Alex Garcia Lopez and Hanelle Culpepper.  Michael Abels has composed the music for the show.

Roger’s Take. This is a perfect opportunity for promotion by Disney, especially for word of mouth and social posts from those attending, to help promote the new Disney+ series.  If my local cinema was doing this, I’d certainly be heading to a special screening!
