Disney has announced some new details on the upcoming Star Wars live-action series, “The Acolyte”, with a brand new poster, showcasing a lightsaber on the ground, with blood spilling out of it, and confirming that a new teaser trailer will be released on Tuesday 19th March 2024

“The Acolyte” is set during the High Republic era and the prime of the Jedi Order and this new poster looks to confirmed that some trouble is brewing for the guardians of peace and justice in the galaxy.

The series is a mystery-thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era. A former Padawan reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes, but the forces they confront are more sinister than they ever anticipated.

The poster also has confirmed that the new series will premiere on Disney+ on June 4th 2024 in the United States and Canada. Due to timezones, the show will be released on June 5th 2024 in other countries outside of the Americas, since it looks like Disney is going to be dropping this series during the primetime timeslot on Tuesday evening in the Americas.

The series stars Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, Charlie Barnett, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Dean-Charles Chapman, Joonas Suotamo, and Carrie-Anne Moss.

“The Acolyte” comes from creator and showrunner Leslye Headland (Russian Doll), who also serves as executive producer alongside Kathleen Kennedy, Simon Emanuel, Jeff F. King, and Jason Micallef. Charmaine DeGraté and Kor Adana are the co-executive producers, and Rayne Roberts and Damian Anderson are producing.

A first look at the series was shown off to attendees at the Star Wars Celebration event last Easter, but now more people are going to get to see how cool this show looks to be.
