“Star Wars: Starfighter” Cast Revealed
With Disney looking to move the Star Wars franchise away from Disney+ live-action series back to theatrical movie releases, Disney has announced details on the upcoming “Star Wars: Starfighter” movie, which has recently gone into production.
Earlier this year at the Star Wars Celebration event in Japan, Disney announced that the new movie will star Ryan Gosling and it will be directed by Shawn Levy.
While very little about the plot of the movie has been revealed, we do know that it is an entirely original story set in a period of time never before explored in Star Wars.
Disney has announced the full cast of the movie, which will include Flynn Gray, Matt Smith, Mia Goth, Aaron Pierre, Simon Bird, Jamael Westman, Daniel Ings, and Amy Adams. Currently, no details on the character have been revealed.
Shawn Levy said in a statement regarding the new film going into production:
“I feel a profound sense of excitement and honor as we begin production on Star Wars: Starfighter. From the day Kathy Kennedy called me up, inviting me to develop an original adventure in this incredible Star Wars galaxy, this experience has been a dream come true, creatively and personally. Star Wars shaped my sense of what story can do, how characters and cinematic moments can live with us forever. To join this storytelling galaxy with such brilliant collaborators onscreen and off, is the thrill of a lifetime.”
Shawn Levy and Kathleen Kennedy produce the film. Executive producers are Ryan Gosling, Dan Levine, Mary McLaglen, and Josh McLaglen. The script is by Jonathan Tropper.
“Star Wars: Starfighter” will be coming out in cinemas on May 28th 2027, before coming to Disney+ later that year.
