Star Wars Celebration Panels Hint At Future “Andor”, “Visions” & “Ahsoka” Reveals
Next month, Disney is returning to Japan to host this year’s “Star Wars Celebration” event, which will see fans from around the world come together to celebrate their favourite franchise, while Lucasfilm will reveal details about their new movies, television shows, books, art, and comics, plus celebrate the history of the iconic brand.
Star Wars Celebration will be held in Makuhari Messe from April 18th to 20th. Many well-known faces from the Star Wars universe will attend, including Diego Luna , Oscar Isaac, Temuera Morrison, Rosario Dawson, Mads Mikkelsen, and Hayden Christensen.
ReedPop, who is organising the event, has recently announced details on how those attending the event will be able to join a virtual queue on March 25th 2025, to get access to the event’s main panels, which will include:
- The Mandalorian & Grogu (Friday)
- Andor: A Star Wars Story (Saturday)
- Ahsoka – (Saturday)
- Visions – Volume 3 – (Sunday)
With these panels, we are likely going to get many updates on the upcoming Disney+ Original series, plus the new “Mandalorian & Grogu” movie, which hits cinemas in May 2026.
It’s unknown if Disney is planning on live-streaming these panels on YouTube. In previous years, some panels have been, but it’s not guaranteed. Those in attendance are likely going to get a sneak peek at some of the new shows and films, but Disney doesn’t always release these sneak peeks to the public.
Since the second season of “Andor” will only be released on Disney+ a few days later, I would expect this show to be one of the event’s main focuses, especially since Diego Luna will be in attendance. I also wouldn’t be surprised if they show an episode or two of the second season of “Andor” over the weekend, like they did with the third season of “The Mandalorian” at the London Celebration event in 2023.
It’s also positive to see the second season of “Ahsoka” getting a panel since filming is expected to begin on the next season. Hopefully, we will get to see more details announced, possibly casting details or a hint at what the story will be about. But it’s also possible they will focus most of the panel on talking about the first season.
The third season of the animated Disney+ series “Visions” is due to arrive on Disney+ later this year, so I certainly think there will be plenty of news and previews of this series coming out during the event, especially since the show is made in Japan. It makes sense for Lucasfilm to make the most of having local talent and creators talking about the show to the audience. If there is one trailer to be released during the Star Wars Celebration weekend, the third season of “Visions” would be my guess.
Filming has wrapped on The Mandalorian & Grogu, so I could easily see those in attendance getting a sneak peek at the film. However, it’s way too early to release a teaser trailer since the movie isn’t going to be out until May 2026, but, I could see some plot details being revealed, along with some cast announcements and a few photos of the movie being released to the public.
It doesn’t look like there’s going to be a general Lucasfilm panel, where previously they’ve announced new movies and shows. Disney is drastically reducing the number of projects it’s making, and there have been so many films announced in the last few years that haven’t moved much beyond the writing of a script stage that it’s hard for them to hype up projects where nothing has happened.
Roger’s Take: Due to the timing of the event and the location, “Visions” and “Andor” are going to be the main shows we get to learn more about this year. Star Wars fans have had too many promises of movies that haven’t happened and thus I’m not expecting any major new announcements this year, since Disney is pulling back on its Star Wars plans, so it’s better they focus on what they can show fans, rather than promises of things that don’t exist yet.
