Star Wars: Ahsoka – First Reactions Revealed
Just ahead of the release of the first two episodes of the new Star Wars series, “Ahsoka”, on Disney+ on Wednesday, 23rd 2023, on Thursday, Disney held a number of screening events around the world, including in Disneyland and Walt Disney World, plus critics have been able to watch these episodes in advance, and the social media embargo has now been lifted.
Set after the fall of the Empire, “Star Wars: Ahsoka” follows the former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.
The series stars Rosario Dawson in the title role, along with Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth, David Tennant as Huyang, Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn and Eman Esfandi appearing as Ezra Bridger.
The series is written by Dave Filoni, who executive produces alongside Jon Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Colin Wilson, and Carrie Beck. Karen Gilchrist is the co-executive producer.
Here’s my first reaction to the series:
I've seen the first two episodes of #StarWars #Ahsoka. Loved it! It's certainly a Rebels sequel. Sabine's fab. Awesome villain debut. It is a little slow to get going, hence the 2 episode premiere. Can't wait for the rest. Coming to #Disneyplus next Wed – Full Review next week pic.twitter.com/5rMHjcXYnb

Here are some other critics’ social media reactions:
Very pleased to hear that the first two episodes of #Ahsoka are receiving positive feedback. Now that I've already completed my Rebels rewatch, I'm more excited than ever for its live action continuation. 🤞🤞 pic.twitter.com/RWsPzGhgIi

The first two episodes of #Ahsoka are terrific. Sabine Wren really gets the chance to shine and @natashabordizzo is perfectly cast in the role.
If you've not seen #StarWarsRebels, I'd at least check out a recap, but this has all the makings of the best #StarWars TV series yet. pic.twitter.com/4CSYTc78uT

Being a huge Rebels fan, I was stoked during the first 2 episodes of #Ahsoka. Seeing these characters back on my screen was indescribably incredible. The action is exactly what you would hope for and the score gives me CHILLS. What a great start to the series. pic.twitter.com/XwjW8K8nK7

They’re making the right call releasing the first two episodes of #Ahsoka together. While it’s not bad, it’s a slow start that isn’t until the end of the second episode where things really start getting enticing. Will keep watching and hope it continues to get better and better pic.twitter.com/j09u1OYcOt

Previewed the first two eps of #Ahsoka. Though it’s an exciting new chapter to the Star Wars story that Dave Filoni has created, it feels more like a sequel to Rebels than a true Ahsoka series. That said, it has all of the charms, humor, and thrills of Rebels… if you watched it. pic.twitter.com/BUvy8DO4Er

#Ahsoka truly feels like a perfect continuation of Star Wars Rebels. All the live action iterations of these characters absolutely nail their animated counterparts. Intriguing story with a lot to offer all Star Wars fans. Ray Stevenson knocked #BaylanSkoll out of the park! pic.twitter.com/8KwGNU0j6g

#Ahsoka Eps 1&2 First Impressions:
– Overall thumbs up
– First episode is refreshingly well-structured. Packs in classic #StarWars corniness, sometimes too much.
– It starts off as #ANewHope on TV (with some sequel trilogy flavor as well!), then moves to #StarWarsRebels in… pic.twitter.com/YqhA0nJsfR— SWNN (@StarWarsNewsNet) August 18, 2023
I got to see the 1st 2 eps of #AHSOKA
The visuals are MOST impressive. It’s easily the most cinematic #StarWars series yet.
No surprise, it’s packed w/ references to #StarWarsRebels & easter eggs. Fans deep in the lore will love it. 🧵 pic.twitter.com/7mC5O4Bo0o
