Disney has announced that its adult-animated series, “Solar Opposites” is going to come to a close after six seasons.

“Solar Opposites” centres around a team of four aliens who are evenly split on whether Earth is awful or awesome. Korvo (Dan Stevens) and Yumyulack (Sean Giambrone) only see the pollution, crass consumerism, and human frailty while Terry (Thomas Middleditch) and Jesse (Mary Mack) love TV, junk food and fun stuff.

In the sixth season, audiences will “witness the wild chaos of this unhinged alien family as they get into hilarious mischief, all while the final chapter of an epic drama unfolds for the shrunken people they’ve imprisoned in their Wall. As the Solar Opposites navigate their unforgettable farewell, expect laugh-out-loud surprises at every turn.”

Tiffany Haddish, Kieran Culkin, Christina Hendricks, Ken Marino, Alfred Molina, Natalie Morales, Jerry O’Connell, and Beck Bennett are among the guest stars set to appear in the final season.

“Solar Opposites” is executive produced by Mike McMahan, Josh Bycel and Sydney Ryan. The series is produced by 20th Television Animation.

The sixth and final season will debut this coming Fall on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States and on Disney+ internationally. However, no release date has been announced.

The previous five seasons of “Solar Opposites” are available to stream now on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States and on Disney+ internationally.

Roger’s Take: While I really enjoy “Solar Opposites”, I did wonder if the show would be able to continue following Justin Roiland being removed from the show after allegations of domestic violence surfaced online. Justin had been an executive producer on the show and provided the voice of Korvo. In the fourth season, Dan Stevens was brought in to replace Justin’s voice.

When the show debuted in 2020, it became both the most-watched program and the most-watched Hulu Original comedy premiere on the platform. However, as the seasons have gone on, viewership has declined, and it’s unclear if the decision to end the show is due to creative or business reasons or a potential mix of both.
